Brittany Sheffield

Brittany Sheffield is a senior Intelligence Analysis major with minors in Middle Eastern Communities and Migrations and Honors Interdisciplinary Studies, and a concentration in National Security Intelligence. Brittany is passionate about solving problems for clients by providing information and assessments that answer their most critical questions.
Ben Mainardi
International Affairs and Public Policy & Administration, 2020
Ben is a senior International Affairs and Public Policy & Administration double major with minors in History and Political Science. In his majors, he concentrates in International Conflict and Security as well as Public Policy. Currently, he is considering several graduate school offers in security studies programs. Following completion of his master’s, he hopes to pursue a career in the defense and intelligence communities.
Zachary Czekalski
Geographic Information Systems, 2020
Zack is a senior Geographic Science major with a concentration in Applied Geographic Information Systems at James Madison University. He has a passion for learning and solving complex problems using spatial analysis.
Christian Detweiler
Engineering, 2020
Christian is a senior engineering major. He chose the Hacking For Defense class as a means to fulfill ideas of working outside the typical group work environment with peers that are able to bring unique ideas outside his own perspective. While at school he has focused his work on the analysis of multispectral imaging data to better understand the idea of algal blooms in varying bodies of water. He hopes to take the skills learned throughout his college career and use it to advance his education at the graduate level.
Julian Miller
Political Science, 2020
Julian Miller is a senior Political Science major with a minor in Economics. Throughout his time at James Madison University he has had the opportunity to intern in Senator Tim Kaine’s State Office as well as interning with a German think-tank (Institut für Europäische Politik) in Berlin, Germany. In Fall 2020 Julian will attend William and Mary College of Law as a J.D. Candidate in the Class of 2023. He hopes to concentrate on either immigration or criminal justice reform.
