Ciao!! Week four was filled with lots of good food from our trip to Naples, Croatia, and discovering new places in Florence. This week, I branched out with Mexican, Croatian, and more American food. One of my favorite meals I had in Croatia was the chicken and their traditional mixed salad that had greens, cucumber, cabbage, and tomatoes. It was really refreshing and went well with my meal. The other meal I had during my time there was the Mexican rice bowl. It was very spicy, but the sour cream was able to balance it out really well. One food I really enjoyed in the Naples trip was the pasta that was served to us in Pompeii. The sauce was really light and perfect for a hot day. The foods I experienced in Naples was very different from Florence overall. I noticed that there was a lot more fried items and street food. Other than the trip, one of my favorite meals in Florence was the wild boar pasta that is known to be a traditional dish in the Tuscany area. I had it at a cute local place in Florence called “Trattoria del Orto,” where I also tried really good tiramisu. Lastly, I got this smoothie bowl at a vegan place in Santo Spirito, and it was so refreshing to have it for breakfast. I feel like I do not get a lot of fruits and vegetables here, so I am always on the hunt for spots that can provide that.
