I saw a lot of things that intrigued me but the thing that I found most interesting was that they sold whole animals like ducks and rabbits. I have never seen anything like that before so at first it scared me a little bit. The market had so much to offer compared to the street vendors in my opinion. I feel like I could find anything that i needed at Mercato and it was all very fresh too. They both had a lot of fresh fruits too. The most unique thing that I saw was the mushroom stand. They had probably 12 different types of dried mushrooms for sale. I think the visit to Mercato is important for this cooking class because it showed us how many options there are for buying food and that in general there is a lot more food available than what’s offered at normal grocery stores.
