Mercato centrale was a very interesting place that I thoroughly enjoyed going to. The market atmosphere reminded me of the reading terminal market in Philadelphia. Seeing all the different vendors selling various items was a very welcoming and warming experience. The markets in the centrale were mostly food vendors and gave a super market vibes whereas the vendors on the streets can literally be smelling anything. Most things I have seen are clothing and jewelry. I think the most interesting thing to me was the vendors selling fresh fish. Looking at the wide variety they had and seeing the actually fish completely still in tact was cool. I think the market was a good thing to do for class because I think it was a great opportunity to emerge yourself in the Italian food culture.
