The lower floor of the Mercato Centrale has a lot going on. There are many different kinds of shops that sell very interesting things that we may not normally see on the daily when walking around Florence. A lot of the products there were handmade. It was interesting to see how everything is so crowded and close together that it feels cramped. The most unique thing I saw was the meat hanging from the ceilings. It was a representation of how they maximize the space that they are given to the max. The desserts there looked delicious although I did not try any. This market was similar to the street vendors because the owners are trying to get you to go to their store so they can sell you something. This visit was important for this class because it was a place that we probably would not go to on our own so it was a good way to introduce us to something different and also see many foods that we could incorporate into our class or have already made/used. And it was an opportunity to relate was we saw to what we have learned so far.
