Being completely honest, my trip to the mercato Centrale was a bit overwhelming. It was very crowded when I went and hot. However, there were many things that intrigued me. The hanging meats was the first thing I noticed because it all smelled very good. I also noticed the fruit at some of the shops and how ripe it looked. The market was different from the street vendors because the food all looked very fresh and healthy. You could tell that all the ingredients were nutrient dense and wholesome. The most unique thing I saw was the handmade soaps. There was one little shop that sold toiletry items all made from natural ingredients, which I thought was really cool. This visit was important because it allowed us to experience something new in Florence that I otherwise would have never known about.
