A food that I had this week that took me out of my comfort zone was a cannoli in Naples. I had never had a cannoli before and I did not know what to expect, but it turned out to be so good. Also, while we were in Pompeii, I had never had eggplant parm, and this was very interesting for me. It was fun to try it, but I can’t say I will ever eat it again. My favorite foods in Italy have been the gelato from Sbrino’s and gnocchi. I have been finding it hard to get protein whenever I eat out, so I usually try to always get a pasta dish with some type of meat. One dish I had in Florence was penne with chicken and this hit the spot. I also got a salad in Naples that had chicken and egg. A food that we made in class that I would repeat is the Pasta e Fagioli and the farro salad. I already know that I will be making these recipes for my family when I go home.
