While in Siena, I ate the pizza pictured above. It had prosciutto and was one of the best pizzas I have had in Italy! Sadly, I did not eat any dishes that are local to Siena or San Gimignano while out on our excursions. In regard to food from the US, I am missing traditional American breakfast sandwiches. Mr. Js bagels are a go to for me when I am at school in Harrisonburg, and there are not very many options that are similar here in Florence. One of the more interesting things that I have eaten has been the duck liver on bread that is shown above with the prosciutto. I am trying to expand my pallet and never would have thought that I would be eating liver; however, it was one of the better dishes that I have had on this trip! I am really enjoying getting to know the Italian cuisine and cannot wait for the following weeks and all of the amazing meals!
