In preparation for the Harrisonburg Democratic caucus, we have prepared a brief Harrisonburg City Council Voter Guide of the five candidates running to represent the Democratic Party.

The Harrisonburg Democratic Party will hold a caucus on May 2, 2020 to select nominees to run for City Council in the November 2020 General Election. Because of Stay-at-Home orders and to protect public health during COVID-19, the Harrisonburg Democratic Party has launched a digital online absentee-voting portal, in addition to the in-person voting at their caucus on Saturday May 2, 2020.

For absentee requests, Harrisonburg Democrats can submit request online at the form below in order to receive their ballot and individual security code.

A digital caucus pledge ballot request is available here: https://forms.gle/6J3w6EdhhczgM2ph9 or email hburgdems@gmail.com to request an absentee ballot.

For rare instance of in-person voting, the caucus polls at 850 W Market Street (as of this note) will be open Saturday, May 2, 2020 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM . For everyone’s safety, they will have a “Drive-In Voting Center” for those arriving by car. Voters wishing to stay in their car will park in space and will be approached by a Voting Officer, wearing protective clothing, and will be issued a copy of the oath. After it is determined that the voter is eligible to vote, the voter will be issued a ballot. Upon completion, the ballot will be inserted into the ballot box. This practice will keep the voter and balloting volunteers at a safe distance from others.
