The Distributed Wind Assistance Program for Virginia is a new program being launched by the Center for the Advancement of Sustainable Energy at James Madison University intended to leverage the excellent wind resources in Virginia where they coincide with rural small business and agricultural producers. The program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy, will advance diversification of the state’s power generation portfolio while simultaneously enabling small businesses and agricultural producers to generate power independently while reducing their electricity costs.
