I have been adding notes and quotes to my my running doc of a lit review, specifically from THE report, #FemFuture: Online Revolution, from the New Feminist Solutions journal. This post is just a mash-up of some of the websites/feminist projects that the report mentions that I finally got around to checking out beyond a cursory glance–and they’re great and very inspiring! I mean, over a decade ago, Gloria Steinem argued that we needed “the folks who put the dot-com in feminism” and it’s nice to know she got this kind of resounding response!
I saw this invitation to Bring Feministing to Campus, and while it’s officially past the spring semester, I still think we should pursue this.
The website that touts being “the feminist Google,” feminist.com, and has the advisory board to back up that claim–with folks like Alice Walker, Gloria Steinem, Jessica Valenti, Margaret Cho, Jane Fonda, and Eve Ensler.
Jennifer Pozner, of Women in Media & News…
Feminist Teacher and the SPARK Movement that are primarily geared towards secondary education, or adolescent girls.
Shelby Knox, an organizer for change.org –as in THE Shelby Knox of Sundance fame.
I’m very impressed with the internationally geared World Pulse. The site acts as a hub for women to speak out from remote regions and hot spots via Internet cafés or cell phones.
Melissa–you just mentioned Boylorn’s Liminalities piece for our lit review, and I just got around to the site she writes for–Crunk Feminist Collective–and I want to be as cool as they are! They’re the perfect blend of activist and academic!
I put “part 1” because I have so many notes and sites from the #FemFuture report that I see this post expanding:)
