I wanted to take a moment to reflect on how hard it is to blog on just one idea at a time. As I sit down to write these 300ish-word posts I struggle to stay on track. One idea leads to another and another and I feel a bit of anxiety that I’ll lose the thoughts or that I won’t find a way to connect them. That said, it is also refreshing to just focus on one idea at a time and I love the idea of leaving room for our thoughts to evolve through our comments.
(I want the Facebook “like” feature here!) I am relieved by this meta-post. I have had the same struggle to stay on track and so thinking about our posts as evolving through the conversations in comments makes me excited and not anxious about upcoming posts.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the format of this project too and I like the way it’s unfolding as a blog – it’s totally open. That uncertainty is scary, but kind of liberating too.
Perhaps we can craft the paper as a blog, overlapping, interacting and back-and-forth shifting topics. That’s how it feels reading Shout Out! Who knows what is coming next? Looking forward to the continuing uncertainty 🙂
