Avenida Corrientes: According to the information from the play, it seems to take place around Avenida Corrientes, one of the most famous street in Buenos Aires. In the play, Sarita and Milton are on their way to to a cabaret, where Sarita is working. They run into their son who is being taken care of by the nuns near Corrientes Avenida. There is also another hint of the street being mentioned on the play with the Royal Pigall, located in Avenida Corrientes, we will talk more about this place later. Avenide Corrientes is also only a few blocks away from Florida Street, where Mexico department store is, again more information will be mentioned later.
Avenida Corrientes has a significant impact on Argentina culture. Home to many famous theaters and cabarets such as the famous Royal Pigall and Teatro Opera, where Gracia Plena was performed. Avenida Corrientes witnessed many great theatrical and music performances that contributed to the grow of Tango in Argentina. A stereotypical saying in Argentina compared Avenida Corrientes to an innocent girl in the beginning who got corrupted by the opening of many cabarets.

Pigall: In the play, Sarita complains and threatens to leave Milton because he tricks her into thinking that he is rich. Rebollo then teases her comment to leave Milton and get her own apartment by imitating her, asking Milton to buy her an apartment and also take her to the Pigall. The Pigall, also known as the Royal Pigall was a luxurious cabaret on Avenida Corrientes. The building also had a theater and a casino. Famous musicians including Jose Gonzalez Castillo also performed at the Pigall. The place closed around 1920s.

In one scene, Sarita, Milton, 30 Mangos are chatting with each other. La Borelli walked in. It is unknown if that is her real name or rather the nickname that the people there give her due to her diva attitude. It could be after Lyda Borelli, one of the most famous Italian actresses at the time. In the play, they mentioned Majestic theater, where they can go to see the real Borelli. Although there is no information regarding to Majestic theater, Jose Gonzalez Castillo might have been referring to a cinema rather than a theater as he was talking about una cinta (a tape).

Mexico Department Store: in the play, the character 30 Mangoes, a very well-dress, fashionable man is having a conversation with Milton about the lavish clothes from Mexico Department Store. As Europeans were moving to Argentina, they brought their import goods, clothing style and architectural style. Mexico Department Store, located in Florida Street, was built after Fortnum & Mason department store, London.
Riachuelo river: at the ending scene, beside Mecha and Maria, two other women are also sent to jail. One of them, out of desperation, throws herself and her two kids into the Riachuelo river to end their suffering for being poor. She gets a 25 years sentence. Riachuelo river stretches along Buenos Aires southern edge. It is currently polluted with factories and human wastes.
